Golf in Scotland

Corrour House is a fantastic base to experience some of the Scottish Highlands unique golf courses.  From the ancient to the new we are sure that the area has something for everyone whatever their standard from small 9-hole courses such as Carrbridge through to other noteable courses at Boat of Garten, Aviemore, Abernethy, Grantown on Spey, Newtomore, Kingussie and Craggan - a challenge for any golfer how ever good your handicap is you will thoroughly enjoy playing in this majestic scenery.

Walking in and around Aviemore

The Cairngorms provide some of Scotland's most challenging walking, with no fewer than 49 Munros and half of Britain's eight mountains over 4,000 ft (Ben MacDrui, Braeriach, Cairn Toul and Cairn Gorm).

There are 50 miles of footpaths through this area, including some lovely walks through the forests. There are also ranger-led guided walks. You can find out more at the Rothiemurchus Estate Visitor Centre. Another good area for walking is around Glen More Forest Park.

Fishing the Spey

One of the largest rivers in Scotland, from its source Loch Spey, it flows 97 miles to Moray Firth, emptying between Banff and Elgin. The total catchment area is 1,154 sq miles. The Spey is an alpine river, with melting snow supplementing flow well into spring. The waters are low in nutrients, and have remained fairly free from pollution. We can organise an experienced local fishing guide given sufficient prior notice.
